Founded 1n 2003 by Ahead Software Coo., Ltd—a State ratified fundamental software corporation —in collaboration with Software Institute, the Postgraduate School of China Sciences Academy and the State International Personnel Exchange Fund under the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs(SAFEA), and filed with the Ministry of Education, empowered by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province as one of common colleges of higher education to issue State-recognized diplomas, Jiangxi Ahead Institute of Software and Technology has been recognized as one of the 35 national-wide example software vocational institutes as well as the only one in Jiangxi province at the end of 2003. In June of 2005, JAIST was assessed as one of the first 30 example vocational education training bases of the whole country by Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education, hence becoming the only computer-educating example one, and the international software talents exchange center ratified by SAFEA. JAIST is the only one which has the qualification to recruit students from all over this country by itself in Jiangxi province.

            Jiangxi Ahead Institute of Software and Technology (JAIST), which is around lakes, beside mountains, with beautiful landscape and in comfort climate, locates in the Nanchang Software Base within Nanchang State Forest Park. It covers 2, 000 mu2 with the construction of 200, 000M2 . During the next 3 years since 2004, Ahead Software Co., Ltd. was chosen to be one of China top 100 software enterprises.

            Depending on Ahead Software Group, Ahead Software College owns a number of experienced full-time and part-time teachers in good educating structure, and meanwhile, inviting Li Yanda, who is the former president of Information Science Technology School Tsinhua University, and Academician Ni Guangnan, who is the researcher of Institute of Computer Science Chinese Academy of Science, as the honorary Presidents. Supported by the State Expert Bureau, the college introduces foreign experts and scholars to lecture for students. By adjusting the rate between lessons of theories and practice, and increasing teaching process of project practicing, JAIST for the first time in China successfully decreases the studying years---- from 3 years to 2 years. In 2005, JAIST cooperated with Lenevo Group to create the first laptop university of wireless network campus in Middle China, which greatly promotes students' classroom study efficiency and practice outside the classroom, increases students' capacity of employment and competition.
